Paracon
Ferry Plantation
Virginia Beach, VA
This was my second year at the Paracon at Ferry Plantation and they just keep getting better. I would highly recommend anyone trying to make it out there to attend. They have some great speakers, along with seasoned paranormal teams and talented psychics, tarot readers and healers. It usually takes place near the beginning to middle of September. You can check out their website here https://ferryplantation.org/ click on the paranormal tab and it will have all the information you will need. If The Southern Gypsies happen to be there make sure to stop by and say hi. The Conner Sisters do amazing Tarot card readings and Holly Mullins is a talent natural healer. This year I also had the pleasure of meeting Sandy Caswell. She did an amazing psychic reading for me that was completely on point. You can find her on facebook. See you there next year.
SCAREFEST
Scarefest is one of the largest horror and paranormal conventions around. It's located in Lexington KY and I had the pleasure of attending last year. It was three days of special events and seminars. Not only did I get to meet many of the celebrities and movie monsters that I loved, I also was able to attend several outstanding seminars on the advancements of studies in the paranormal field. I met so many amazing people, many of which have become dear friends. I would highly recomend this event to anyone who loves horror movies or has an interest in the paranormal. Please check out their website for more information. www.thescarefest.com and hopefully I'll see you there this year.

St Albans Sanatorium
My Bloody Valentine Feb 2012
Dustin Perry was the guest speaker for this one and as always he was hilarious. He had lots of great information and then there was an investigation to follow where we put to use all the tips and tricks that he shared. As always St Albans knows how to put on a great convention.

Chad Calek
A Blood Red Sky
Richmond Va summer 2014
Chad is best know for working with Ryan Buell on Paranormal State. He did a documentary called A Blood Red Sky on the effects of psychotic drugs and the paranormal. It was certainly interesting to say the least.

Enigmacon
This is the most recent and as I've said before St Albans really knows how to put on a convention. There was a long list of amazing speakers, with topics ranging from Cryptozoology, to UFOs, to photography and psychic mediums. This two day event was packed full of information and included a night time investigation of St Albans itself. If you have not had a chance to check this place out I highly recommend it. They are well organized and they do a fantastic job of keeping things on track. Also, if you get a chance to listen to any of Pat O'Keefe's presentations, do so, she is an amazing photographer, investigator, and psychic medium. http://www.enigmacons.com/home.html

The Exchange Hotel
June 10, 2017
The Exchange Hotel in Gordonsville Virginia is an old hotel that, like a lot of old buildings, has served many purposes. It was a train depot and a civil war hospital among other things. This is a beautiful old house with tons of history. The paracon itself was well organized and full of great speakers. The Tennessee Wrath Chasers where there, they are best known for their paranormal show Ghost Asylum. They were supper nice guys and I was glad to see them standing up to the networks in order to keep their investigations pure and not give in to "doctoring" things. There are several events planned throughout the year and I would recommend checking it out if you get a chance. http://www.hgiexchange.com/ |

The land has just as much history as the house itself does. The earliest origins of the land can be dated back to the Chesepian Indians, believed to be the first inhabitants of Virginia Beach. They where believed to be wiped out by the Powhatan Indians in the early 1600s. Numerous archaeological findings of arrowheads, pottery and jewelry on the land suggest that it was inhabited by these early tribes. In 1642 Savill Gaskin created a ferry system on the Lynnhaven river. This is where it got its name of Ferry Farm. This caused and influx of people to move to the area. The third Princess Anne Courthouse stood there from 1730 - 1751 and Andrew Walke's Tavern operated there in the 1770s. In 1828 the Walke family mansion burned to the ground and two years later the remnants where used to lay the foundation of the house that now stands there. It is said to be haunted by eleven ghosts, some of which include Henry a resident slave, Sally Rebecca Walke, a lady in white that takes a tumble down the stairs regularly as well as the many victims of the 1810 shipwreck. Perhaps its most famous ghost is that of the accused and convicted witch of Pungo, Grace Sherwood. Grace was a midwife and farmer in Princess Anne County in the 1700s. She had an extensive knowledge of herbs and a preference for wearing pants, but her downfall was more than likely the fact that she was extremely beautiful. She was sentenced to trial by water. When she failed to sink she was snatched from the water and imprisoned for seven years and nine months she passed away years later on her farm. https://colonialghosts.com/ferry-plantation-house/
All in all this was a great house to visit. It is full of period antiques that I'm certain hold their own energies. I would be very interested to come back and do a private investigation. It had a weird sort of energy to it but I'm unsure of wither that was the chaos of the paracon or the energy of the house. There where several last minute changes and you could really tell that it threw a kink in the organization of the event. Definitely a place I would recommend visiting. I will be going back, but I will do a private overnight next time.
