ST ALBANS
In November 2011 I was very excited to be a part of the first ever TAPS Academy event at St Albans Sanatorium in Radford Virginia. We started off with a day long class which was very informative. The TAPS family members did an exceptional job. Later on that night we were able to investigate the abandoned sanatorium. Several paranormal teams from Virginia pitched in to lead the tour groups. I learned a lot of valuable techniques from shadowing these team leaders. This was an alround wonderful place to investigate. Unfortunately I didn't capture any substantial evidence due to equipment malfuntion. However, I did have several personal experiances. Many of the claims from here include battery drain, well this is where the equipment malfunctions come into play. I brought 3 back up batteries for my camcorder, 2 of which died with 30 minutes of use (these are 6 hour batteries). My digital recordered died and after several battery changes, it finally stopped working all together. By the end of the night the only equipment left that didn't have battery drain was my flashlight and my K2 meter. The first room we went into I instantly felt like there was something there watching us. We also experianced many strange noises that seemed to respond to our request and upon further investigation of the noises we could not find any tangible explanations. I am planning several trips back to this location, and this time I will come equiped with an arsinal of batteries. http://stalbans-virginia.com/
